GP-led weight loss service

Our GP-led weight loss service offers personalised, medically supervised support to help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight safely. There are six different doses of Mounjaro (Tirzepatide). The dose and duration required will vary from person to person, depending on their need and specific goals. All eligible patients start on the lowest dose, and the doctors will titrate up, based on response and need. Each Mounjaro ‘pen’ (the appliance that administers the drug) provides enough medication for four doses (one dose per week). The prices for per pen for each of the doses are listed below:

2.5mg = £235

5mg = £250

7.5mg = £265

10mg = £290

12.5mg = £310

15mg = £315

Once established on medication and having had the necessary lifestyle coaching we provide to aid in your weight loss journey, you and your doctor may agree a maintenance dose of treatment which can be continued until you reach your goals.

What may be included in your appointment:

  • Comprehensive Medical Assessment:
    A full medical history and any necessary physical examinations to ensure your treatment plan is safe and tailored to your health needs.
  • Medication Counselling:
    A discussion about whether medication is appropriate, how it works, and what to expect in terms of outcomes and side effects.
  • Medication Prescription and Supply:
    Prescribing and supplying weight loss medication at the appropriate dose.
  • Education and Administration Guidance:
    Clear instructions on how to administer your medication safely and effectively.
  • Lifestyle and Dietary Advice:
    Detailed guidance on nutrition, physical activity, and behavioural strategies to support healthy, sustainable weight management.

Appointment Format:

  • Initial Appointments:
    All first consultations will take place in person at Tywi Health to allow for a comprehensive assessment.
  • Follow-Up Appointments:
    For patients who are well established on medication, telephone or video consultations may be offered for convenience and continued support.
